Handmade from sterling silver and 18k gold, Elaine is shown surrounded by the blossoming lilies of spring. Her face is carved from a recycled piano key, and her features delicately scrimshawed by hand. The necklace is reversible - showing the natural lapis stone on the back - and beaded with lapis lazuli gemstones. Elaine the Lily Maid represents the beauty and abundance of willing love: compassion and kindness not dependent on reciprocation, but rather given freely. She measures 1.8" x 1.25".

Each goddess necklace is signed on the bottom by the artist, with an easy-to-use sterling silver and gemstone box clasp. The standard beading length is 19" but can be strung to any length.
The inspiration for the famous Lady of Shalott, Elaine of Astolat was fated to fall deeply in love with the heroic knight Lancelot. She nursed the wounded knight back to health after he was pierced by a lance in tournament, but her compassion and tenderness went unrequited: Lancelot’s heart already belonged to his lady Gweneviere. Nonetheless, Elaine remained true in her love and shows us the power of the heart to endure and keep loving.
