from $3,600.00

balance of masculine & feminine, sovereignty

This necklace is being retired to the design vault, so grab this beauty while she’s here!

Handmade from sterling silver and 18k gold, the Gweneviere necklace shows the golden queen of Camelot beside her castle.  Her face is carved from a recycled piano key, and her features delicately scrimshawed by hand.  The necklace is reversible - showing Excalibur covered with roses on the back - and beaded with natural black sapphires.  Gweneviere, whose name means "White Fairy," was the goddess embodiment of Britain, and her union with King Arthur represents the perfect union of the sacred masculine and feminine.  She measures 2.2" x 1".

Translated from the Welsh, Gwenhwyfar means “The White Fairy,” suggesting a perhaps mystical or inherent power possessed by the Queen. Often depicted as the Queen of May, Gweneviere embodies the land of Britain, and her union with King Arthur gives them the right to rule in the perfect match of masculine and feminine. She appears here before Camelot, the Holy Grail in her hand.  On the back is Excalibur, covered with roses, showing the balance between the masculine strength in the sword and the feminine compassion within the flowers.
